I know how to colour an eye/iris the 'correct' way, well theres a few but, would I be asking to much if I questioned to you how you colour like that?
hehe, it's all good if you can't or don't want to tell.
I don't want to copy you/your style either, just very curious and wish I could do that easily.

I do my manipulations in Photoshop CS3. I open up the image I am going to use, then put another blank layer over it - I make that layer "overlay." I went to the new layer and used the elliptial tool and selected the area around an eye. I then used the spectrum gradient tool over it, then erased anything that went over the edge of the iris using the eraser with 0% hardness. I did the same to the other eye and the mouth. For the hair and "eyeshadow," I just used an overlay brush with different colors. It sounds like a lot, but it took about 10 minutes or so.
