Where I feel it could be stronger is if it had more of a focal point. I find my eyes are first drawn to the 'steps' because they are dark and detailed. Then my eye naturally goes up the path towards the end - which is good - but then... what? We just drift away. I think what would take this picture from good to great would be something - perhaps a figure standing at the end of the path, or an animal or bird moving down the path - to pull the viewer further in and give us a little reward for travelling with you.
