Personal Update

Wed Feb 12, 2014, 8:38 PM

Hello, everyone. :)

I apologize for the lack of activity lately. Things have been a little crazy my way. I've been easily distracted as of late, and our weather has been nuts. Right now we are getting hammered by a massive snowstorm. :dummy: I will be getting myself back in gear and shall be ready to tackle my inbox.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. :peace:

I hope you're all doing well.

Shout-Out Project

Tue Jan 28, 2014, 7:42 PM
The "inspiration" idea has been somewhat altered.

Is there a deviant that means a lot to you, someone who inspires you or is a great friend you can rely on? Were you never really sure of how to say "thank you" for what they do/have done for you?

Why not give them a shout-out?

Post a heart-felt journal (something much more in-depth than a regular feature) dedicated to them, stating what you are thankful for (or how they helped you, how much they inspire you, or just how they're an all-around amazing person), and maybe include some of their work or what they do in the community. The journal can summarize all that is awesome about them. :la: If you have a few deviants in mind and wanted to include them in the same journal, that is perfectly fine. And please don't feel pressured to be too personal; just write what you feel comfortable with.

:star: If you'd like to get involved but wish to remain anonymous, I will gladly take notes and post journals with what you would like to say about your deviant of choice. Your username will not be included. :)

Also, it seems like a good idea to release weekly or monthly articles that spotlight your feature(s), so if you would like yours included, just say the word and send the link(s).

Brighten someone's day. :sun:
Spread  and :peace:

Devious Inspiration

Tue Jan 14, 2014, 11:01 PM

Okay, I know I had a journal like this a few months ago, but I don't know what happened to it. :/ So, it's being reposted, as I would finally like to get this rolling.

This will be a new journal/feature series, and I would like to base it on who inspires you on dA. If you'd like to participate, it's a simple process. All you'd have to do is note me with a deviant's username along with a comment about why the person inspires you. It can be any kind of inspiration, not just art-related. But if it is art related, please feel free to send thumbs that inspire you the most. If it's a few deviations or deviants, that's fine. You don't have to limit yourself to just one. I will make news articles that feature the works/deviants, as well as your comments. If you would like to be anonymous, please feel free to state so.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Congratulations!!

Strange OrnamentsThe Hamato clan had just finished a pleasant enough, if not a little distracted, meal on Christmas Eve and each brother anxiously moved to clear the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” Splinter asked his red and orange banded sons who were wrapping themselves in human clothing as defense against the bitter winter wind.
“I’m meeting up with Casey, Sensei, and then we’re gonna drop off Mikey,” Raph answered.
“Yeah I’m gonna hit the hills, I know a wicked spot, and no one will be out tonight. It’s a perfect opportunity to get in some primo sledding,” Mickey announced cheerfully.
“Just be careful no one see you, and keep your face covered,” Leo reminded sternly while clearing the table.
“Okay, okay, jeez,” Mikey rolled his eyes.
Seeing the exchange Splinter added, “Your brother is right Michelangelo, are you sure you would not rather stay home, it is very cold.”
“Nope.  Adventure is calli

It’s a hazard being a creature of nature in a city of over 8 million. Wonder away from Central Park and its sanctuary and you’ll find all sorts of obstacles. Honking cars speeding down streets, busy humans rushing to appointments ignorant of a small crisis at their feet, and perhaps the most horrific of them all--- storm drains.  At least on this day, for this mother duck there seemed to be nothing worse as she stared mournfully down into the sewer through the perforated steel grate.  Her chirping flock of fuzzy blond hatchlings had been following instinctively in her wake as she traversed the drain one webbed step at a time. But now, somehow, what had been five was reduced to only one.
“Where does he get off!”  Raph fumed as he stomped through the tunnels, “thinks he so good, thinks he’s the boss of everybody, I aughta…”
“Chirp, chirp, chirp!”
Raph stilled and took in the unfamiliar noise, his ninja senses hei

Photomanipulation Treasures - 08

Sun Nov 24, 2013, 11:08 PM

*lurk lurk...*

Sat Nov 23, 2013, 7:27 PM

Hello, everyone. :)

I just wanted to let you know that I will be a bit scarce this week. I picked up extra hours at work (I'm currently at 39 for the week instead of my usual 25, and I'm working 6 days instead of the usual 5), on top of going to school for half the week. For those that didn't know, I work as an electronics sales associate for Walmart. This Friday is that dreaded day after Thanksgiving... :fear: But it's allowing me to have a decent paycheck. :la: Anyway, I'll still be around, just not as much.

Contest Info

It's that time again. :meow:

For this contest, you are being offered a "stock bank" to select your stocks from. :la: There is no particular theme; just wing it!

Bullet; Red The majority (but not 100%!) of your manipulation must contain stocks from the given choices. You may find some textures or other little odds and ends to use. Also, you do not need to use a piece from each category listed below (but you can use more than one from the same category if you'd like). All stock/textures you are using outside of the bank must be legit.
Bullet; Purple Make sure you read each stock artists' rules! This is a must. Also, always give proper credit and notify of usage. Please remember to do this, or the entry will not be accepted.
:bulletpink: There will be 3 different categories: beginner, intermediate, and advanced (when submitting your entry or entries via note, please state which category you fall under).
Bullet; Yellow There is a limit of two entries per deviant (but you may only win once!).
:bulletblue: The artwork must be new (created November 10th or later).
:bulletgreen: The idea is to "break out of the box," to leave your comfort zone. Try a new style/genre! Your entry will be judged heavily on originality.
:bulletorange: Please keep digital painting to a minimum. Small details are fine.

:star: Run time: November 10th - January 10th

:note: If you wish to offer a prize, please send a note. Any and all generosity is appreciated.
