Photomanipulators, how have you evolved? - FeatureI'm interested in creating a feature that shows how much your work has changed over time. I put together a "Then and Now" feature a while back, but I'd like to do one that focuses on photomanipulation. So if you're interested, note me two works from your gallery; one of your oldest and one of your newest. The more similar the better. You may be surprised at the difference between the two. I sure know I am. There are almost 7 years between these two. Also, if you would like, feel free to give some background information (how long you've been manipulating, whether you're self-taught/took classes, your best source of inspiration, whether it's your livelihood or just a hobby, etc.)
Photomanipulation Contest - MythologyBased on the results of a previous poll, the popular choice for the contest theme is Mythology."Mythology can refer either to the collected myths of a group of people—their body of stories which they tell to explain nature, history, and customs—or to the study of such myths. As a collection of such stories, mythology is an important feature of every culture."For this contest, you are invited to create an entry based around your favorite god, goddess, mythological creature, etc. However, you are encouraged to break out of the box a bit and work around a myth you are not familiar with, or one that is lesser known. Here is a great list of different mythologies around the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mythologies (keep in mind: you are not limited to this list - it is just a guideline)Contest rules/guidelines: Run time: March 12 - June 15 (11:59pm EST) The entry must be NEW for this contest (no ol
CLOSED - Flash Manip Challenge 03 - TwistedDeadline passedNo entriesYou've heard of flash mobs, right? Large groups of people that meet in public places and perform in some way for a short amount of time, then disperse and act as if nothing happened, leaving everyone else surprised and confused? I figured I'd try to incorporate something like that into a short challenge. You will be given a theme. The idea is to quickly piece together a manip based on that theme. Because the time limit to complete it will be short, technical skill will not be heavily judged. There will be more of these challenges, but they will not be on a set schedule. Like a flash mob, they're meant to surprise you and keep you on your toes. Guidelines for Challenge 3Theme: Twisted: take a common idea, story, myth, etc. and give it a major twistTime limit: 3 days (due by 11:59pm EST March 4th)You will be judged on creativity/originality & how
Thank you!!I just wanted to stop and say thank you all for the birthday wishes. I haven't had much time on the internet lately, but I will definitely go through the messages and answer them one by one. Each one is appreciated.

Who/What Inspires You? - ProjectI'm going to try getting this rolling again. I'd like to know who or what inspires you, and why. The plan is to collect responses (you can be anonymous if you'd like) and post journals containing said responses. I think it'll be a good way to lift spirits and promote positivity within the community.Your inspiration can relate to art or life in general. It could come from a multitude of sources or people (both online and real life). If the person is on dA, please include their username. If you want your username listed in the journal, please include that as well.If you're interested in taking part, please follow the link below to leave your response:https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/56DD2J8The more details, the better. Thank you!Stay devious.
Upcoming Photomanip ContestIt's been a while since I've held a photomanip contest, so I think the time is right for another. However, I'm coming up dry for themes. I figured I'd turn to the community for unique ideas. Feel free to leave your thoughts or suggestions in a comment. In about a week or two, the suggestions will be voted for in a poll. The tentative run-time for the contest is the beginning of January to the beginning of March. I am also open to prize donations. Any and all help is of course appreciated.Thank you!
If I could DD (again)This is a feature for the "If I could DD" Community Project. The idea is to put together a collection of artwork you would personally feature as Daily Deviations if you were a Community Volunteer.I (of course) selected work from the photomanipulation/digital mixed media galleries.
